You see, this is what my drive way looks like on most days. That's the old orange/brown hutch on the right.
Here's what I started with. Great bones, curves, solid wood, tounge and grove joints...just a wonderfully made in the USA piece of furniture. I was more than happy to show her some love with Sherwin Williams Dupe for Annie Sloan's Old White (1 qt for $4.xx on sale) & Annie Sloan Paris Gray (1 qt for about $40).
You can view the post at Altar'd Designs that gives all the details of what colors match the AS Color Pallette. Annie Sloan Color Dupes
The only 2 dupes I have used so far are Old White and Old Ochre. The Old White I don't have an AS one to do a color match, but on the Old Ochre...i just had to touch up an Armoire that I will be posting this week with the Sherwin Williams match to it, and it was perfect! You can't even tell where I touched up once it dried. I'll be sure to give you a close up shot when I post that one. Let me just tell you, SW's was on sale for $4.xx a couple weeks ago, when I bought 5 diff. dupes...that's a huge savings and I plan on absolutely using those in the future. I love AS, but those prices are just so high...
I used TSP to clean her up and got started with my chalk paint. I used 2 coats and then a couple touch up spots.
I found the "Paris" knob at Hobby Lobby after the piece was already painted and just knew they were perfect for this little piece. I had a hard time letting this one go. I really really am happy with it.
I also made up some Silver Platted Chalk Board Trays to accent it. What do you think? Do you like the color combo's? It's in the shop now, $400 and it's yours!
This is lovely...your driveway looks like my cellar - except I haven't started to paint yet, I need some motivation!
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by Patti. I hope that I will inspire you to get to painting :) lol come back anytime for a dose.

DeleteYou did great on restoring your vintage furniture into something more elegant and useful. Glad you were able to find affordable accessories that made your project complete.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Yes I love the HL Knobs, but I am selective...as the quality varies greatly!
