Fabulous Blue Girls French Provincial Desk

Here's a sweet little blue and white French Provencial dresser.  I just love all the details on this little doll!  I made the blue custom chalk paint from a mistint I purchased about a year ago...and I love this color...but, it is not consistent and has been giving me major issues.  This is when I love the consistency of using a premade chalk paint like Annie Sloan, CeCe Caldwell, or American Paint Co.  So, this set has taken for ever for me to finish, I am so discouraged.  But I will move on.  This set has a dresser, desk, chair, mirror, and I painted an antique (not French Provencial) full headboard the same color).  The desk is the only completed piece as of right now.  The dresser will be finished by Friday and in the shop, but the desk is ready for a new home!

The white trim was done in a custom chalk paint using Sherwin Williams, you can find the list of ASCP dupes on Altar'd Designs Blog, here.  The contrast in color just gives the desk that extra special look to it.  As always, my furniture is painted by me by hand and they are one of a kind pieces.  I do not duplicate my work.

Here is what the set looked like when I purchased it from a craigslist ad.  Sorry about the poor picture, I used the one from CL, and tried to lighten it up.  This is the best I could get it.

and a few progress shots...you've seen these before, there are a few projects in this shot.

Hope you like it.  I hope this will make a little girl feel very special doing her homework at her elegant desk!  Here she is all set up in the window at Secondhand Rose.  I am loving being upstairs with all the "big kids", if you haven't read that post, be sure to check it out.  I have been working with Chris, the owner and getting the shop ready for the Street Fair.  If you are local, check it out...it's sure to be a great time with lots and lots of shopping for vintage and antique goods!  If you come, be sure to stop by and see us.
